-- and the fact that sincere questioners (if a few of them do exist) may not be capable of consulting the SEARCH YAHOO ANSWERS archives for the answers and explanations posted the previous million times when that particular lame question was asked -- is it time to create an off-site FAQ and simply post the Q&A index number? ==================================================================== ==================================================================== OPTIONAL EXAMPLES........ ............... ............ and NOMINATIONS FOR THE LAMEST R&S MOLDY OLDIES After every, even in a single day one can often find these Classic "Lame & Moldy" questions posted perhaps a half dozen times by the Young & The Clueless, either in testimony to the deficiencies of our public school systems (because the lack of basic reading comprehension surely can be explained there) OR because the Bible-bashers just can't resist cutting-and-pasting the same old nonsense from their favorite "Bible Errors & Contradictions" websites compiled years ago (and now maintained) by bored and socially-awkward teenagers who couldn't receive dates for the Homecoming Dance. Moreover, something new and interesting might even receive posted now and then if re-runs like these could receive relegated (retired?) to the FAQ bin. (After the first million postings of the same lame question, isn't it about time to give that one a relax -- simply for the sake of the sanity of and mercy to the carpel-tunnel syndrome of the running-out-of-patience, we-have-a-clue-how-about-you answerers?) To receive the ball rolling, I will now nominate -- and I'm asking you to nominate your possess personal favorites -- the following "Officially Retired Lame R&S Questions" for the crime of having been fully answered over one million times: 1) "Why do cherry-picking Christians obey the scripture opposing homosexual acts but don't avoid eating shrimp/pork/clams or mixing their fabrics?" 2) "Why does the Bible claim that...." * bats are birds? * whales are fish? * grasshoppers have four legs and not six? [double groan] * the earth is flat (or a circle)? * the sky is a dome * the earth stands on pillars * Pi equals 3? [triple-groan] 3) "How could the Bible oppose homosexuality when the word hadn't even been invented yet?" 4) "Why don't Christians admit that it stole its holidays from the pagans?" 5) "Can't we every admit that the historical Jesus never existed and the myth was derived from Mithraism?" 6) "Why do Christians hate science/civil-rights/freedom/minorities?" Related Bonus: "Since Christians don't believe in evolution, how can they take antibiotics or even visit doctors?" [Yes, some can even keep a straight face while asking this.] 7) "Why don't you Christians explain to me once and for every why you believe in God (but no quoting from the Bible, boring me with theology, personal experiences, claims of the supernatural or miracles, or assuming that you have answers that nobody else does)? 8) "How can Christians trust a book that believes in unicorns!?" 9) "Why are retardied Christian fundie-mentalists so hateful of athiests?" [sic, sic, & sic] .......and the list goes on. But whether or not a particular posting of one of these ubiquitous questions represents a sincere lack of knowledge and eagerness to learn something -- and not just another intentionally naive jab at the Bible from yet another Christian-basher of this forum -- these questions well illustrate the fact that 99.9% of the criticisms posted here against the Bible (and Christians) could probably be eliminated by raising the quality of public education in our schools! (Can you say very slowly "reading comprehension please"?) Yet, regardless of the cause of such cluelessness and the best eventual solution, there is no doubt that the tiresome and repetitive nature of the same old lame Bible-bashing questions posted daily on R&S gets so monotonous that many of us quit answering these classics several thousand postings ago. So is it time for some numbered compendium of "Lamest R&S Bible-Bashing Questions & Their every-Too-Obvious Answers"? Or are there already some websites by YA alumni which address such Moldly Oldy For the Lonely Bible-Jabs from what would be the opposite of "Best of YA R&S"? ================================ EXTRA HELP for the reading comprehension challenged: The word "OPTIONAL" means that you don't have to read anything after the first paragraph to answer the question posted.

Open Question: Windows Media Center?
I have my 360 and pc set upto the same router and im trying to receive windows media middle set up. I have it installed on my pc (vista home premium) and sorted on my xbox, when my PC prompts me to receive a 8 digit serial code, lo and behold, its displayed on my 360 screen Yippee!! or so i think, The Media middle extender runs through its set up and detects my xbox fine, when i goto the network panel it recognised both my 360 AND the extender, even when i use the 360 settings>network settings and do the connection test, it reassures me its connected.. HOWEVER! When i try to receive access to the media middle via the 360 it just sits blankly on a black screen with the words "Windows Media middle - Contacting..." and flashing orbs...for a few hours!! then it cuts off... I have tried reconfiguring my router, i have uninstalled my firewalls, i have assigned MAC addresses, static IP's etc etc.. i have tried every stupid FAQ online and no joy, im hoping someone on here can help!? My PC specs are: Alienware Area-51 ALX Intel core i7 980x 3.33GHz Quad Core Processor. Dual 2GB ATI Radeon HD 5970 Graphics Card 12GB 1600MHz Tri-Channel Memory Windows 7 Home Premium

Open Question: Does anyone else hate the new Windows Live Hotmail?
I signed on yesterday to check my email and everything was different and extremely difficult to navigate. I hate it! Why must they ruin such a good thing? I would switch email servers in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the fact that too many people know my email address and it would be a hassle to change it. My biggest problem: When I sign on to check my hotmail, it automatically puts me as "online" on this new ridiculous "web messenger" thing where people start talking to me directly and there are little conversation pop-ups popping up in the bottom right-hand corner of the window. AND I'M NOT EVEN SIGNED ONTO FREAKING MSN! So then people start talking to me and I have to be rude and tell them I have to go and sign out completely because there is, to my knowledge, no way of "appearing offline" on this web messenger thing. So QUESTION: how do I appear offline when signing into check my email, or better yet receive rid of the whole damn web messenger thing every together? Please help, this is starting to be a gross inconvenience for me. I have already checked the Windows Live FAQ, it has nothing there about it.

Open Question: Having a problem with my Trafford Centre gift card.?
I am trying to use a card online, it clearly states in the FAQ that you can use the Visa trafford centre gift card online. I know that it has been activated, because the person that gave it to me stated that it was. However, I do not know the card's name, as it was given in a prize draw at my school. Open Question: Troubles with Wi-Fi connection on iPod touch?
I don't receive the list of available Wireless Networks on my iPod touch. I went to the Apple website and looked at every their Troubleshooting and FAQ's, but I had already done what it said to do. I have the Wi-Fi turned ON and Ask to Join Networks ON. Reading online, it sounded like I should have a list of available Wi-Fi connections where ever I go, (with the exception of the private networks). I have never had a list of the networks available. How can I receive a list? Is there something wrong with my iPod touch?

Open Question: Why won't the adobe flash player install?
I click "download" then I receive as far as "This site might require the following active x control 'adobe DLM' click here to install. I click that then nothing happens. So then I click on FAQ "my download didn't start" but there's nothing useful there. I don't receive an mistake message or anything, it just stops the process.

I've been thinking about using GoodReads Bookswap feature lately. While I understand how it works on requesting books I'm still curious on how to send books out. According to their FAQ you need credit cards to pay but how does the sender receive the money? Do I need to receive a Paypal account to receive the money to boat out books?

I was logging on facebook then it said "Your account has been disabled. If you have any questions or concerns, you can visit our FAQ page here." So I clicked here and it had questions and answers about high school networks and i have no idea what that means. Also I don't know why it's disabled I never did anything bad while using it. I was going to email facebook but I don't know where to send it to also how long will it take for them to answer back?

Open Question: PO Box - what do I do when I move to a new state and do not have a new address?
I currently have a PO Box and will be moving to a new state. I will need to close my PO Box when I move and I do not have a new address to complete a Change of Address (COA) form. What happens to my mail in the meantime before I'm able to submit a COA. It may be a few weeks before I receive a new address. What are my options? I was thinking of putting a hold on my PO Box until I can submit a COA but according to the USPS FAQ you can't put a hold on a PO Box. What do I do? Thanks for any suggestions!

Open Question: Trouble with .mov movies from my iPhone 3G?
I've had a lot of trouble with this. When I take videos on my iPhone and download them to the computer, they show up as .mov files... This would be perfectly okay, if only things on my computer would recognize it. The Windows Help thingy says: "Make sure the video and audio codec (Short for compression/decompression. Open Question: Post 9-11 GI bill...?
I completed the online portion except for the first question. I'm going for the Post 9-11 GI bill benefits but it wants me to select which one I want. So I check off the Post 9-11 one and then it expands and tells me to select another benefit and a effective date. I don't know what to do. Open Question: Is Inkdeath really the last book in the Inkworld series?
I know it has been announced that Inkdeath was the last book in the series, but this was posted on Cornelia Funke's website below FAQ: I was wondering why you wanted to cease the Ink trilogy story? I mean, there was a open ending to Inkdeath! For the next two or three years I am stuck in the Reckless-world but I feel like you do: that there are still a lot of stories untold in the Inkworld (I am especially worried about what Orpheus is doing on the other side of the mountains) so hopefully one day I will receive back to tell those stories and find out more about Doria and Meggie's brother and every the others! And the story does have an open ending, because you don't know the Folchart son's name, Orpheus escaped into the mountains, they're still in the Inkworld so something is bound to happen, and I really want to know about Meggie and Doria! So will there possibly be another book after every?

Open Question: Bunch of questions about the J-1 visa?
Hi im an australian looking to travel to the USA below a J-1 visa working as a camp counsellor I called the embassy its $12 for the call payment via creditcard, for some reason it wouldnt take my details so im asking u guys instead haha ok bear with me there are 9 questions. 1. I was arrested in the USA for public intox (only a misdemenor), ive done the required community service alcohol assesment and paid my fine, but will this effect me getting a J-1 visa? 2. Ive seen on alot of sites the J-1 visa lasts as long as ur eomployment. BUT is there a limit to it? Eg could i stay for up to 4years if my employor wanted me to stay that long 3. On a J-1 visa if im working at a summer/day camp can i receive other employment? Such as waiting at a resturant as a casual worker 4. If working at a summer/day camp can i still stay with my pal in the US as long as im close enough to receive to work everyday? 5. If i was to be staying there for eg 18months, how much Cash would i need apon entry to be aloud in the country? 6. Can i return home for a visit after say 6-12months below a J-1 visa, and then return back to the US? 7. Even if i have employment organised, a good amount of cash to support myself and accomodation (i have a pal im going to be living with more then likely, and a few other friends i can stay with) what are the chances of my visa applicatiob being rejected? 8. If in the US below a J-1 visa can i study at collage part time given i have the free time to do so? 9. This may be a stupid question, but how would my pay work if i was working at a summer camp? Would i receive a paycheck at the end of the week like every other joe blow working there? Thanks for the help everyone :) P.S. If anyone knows a GOOD site where i can contact someone in the know who will actually answer my specfic questions and not just tell me to read the FAQ's or tell me the info is avaliable on w/e site it would be also much appreciated. Voting Question: call of duty 2 direct x 9.0c problem?
hey friends. i just bought call of duty 2. when i try to play it it says "DirectX mistake DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable mistake. Please check DirectX Help document for possible details." i tried everything in the FAQ but nothing happened. i updated my graphics card softwares also but still nothing. the main problem is that the game requires directx 9.0c and i already have it installed in my system but still the game does not detects it. i tried to download directx 9.0c from microsoft but the downloaded file just extracts some files which require me to sugest the software to open with. any advice? thnx in advance :)

Voting Question: Does anyone know how to contact Twitter about how bad their support is? A direct email address perhaps?
I've spent about 4 months trying to regain access to my twitter account. Just trying to find how to contact support at Twitter is an exersise in futility, as the contact link at the bottom of their page just keeps taking you back to a FAQ page. Once you finally do figure out how to put a support ticket it, you receive an email back saying try resetting your password and telling you not to answer to the email as the ticket is closed. When you can't reset your password and send another ticket in, you receive an email back saying to try logging into your account or something just a stupid. oh, yeah, and that email says not to answer back as the ticket has been closed. After like 3 months of this horseplay, I finally figured out how to contact twitter support directly, then started on their merry go round, asking me to tell them the date that I most recently logged in (like who remembers that?), then what was the last DM I sent (right, can't log in to look, remember...?) then telling me the email associated with the account wasn't changed "recently" (what the hell is "recently" when you haven't been able to access your account in like 4 months....?) Anyway, I'd like to seriously contact someone at twitter and find out if they have any idea how bad their customer support is, and if anyone at Twitter might be concerned enough to do something about it. If someone has some good contact info for someone at Twitter who you think might be interested in looking into this, I'd appreciate it if you could share the info with me. ...and please, don't tell me it's "only twitter" or "just open a new account". I've got nearly 9,000 followers I've taken the time to cultivate and don't care to lose... Voting Question: Sims 2 family wont load. deleted needed cc?
Ok so I consider myself pretty sim savy by now, but im having a big and extremely frustrating problem. So a few nights ago I downloaded some cc as usual. But then i decided to go through sims Clean Installer and do a little clear out of things i dont use or need anymore so I can clear up some space, my downloads folder is packed. So i remember deleting mostly eye colors but I specifically remember deleting a mod or hack. I dont remember which one it was though. Anyway I load up my game and its slower than usual, then I go to play a family and it wont load. I receive every the bars then they clear and the hour glass spins forever. So I go back, delete every the cc I got that night and try again, still nothing. I do a little googling and read that deleing the group cache file can help. So I did it, but it was just a sick tease. I restart my game and it loaded really quick, got to my neighborhood that also loaded quick, clicked on my family and.... Nothing.. Now im scared that I may have deleted something really important in the game? But if it was downloaded it couldnt be that important right? Honestly I spend so much time downloading cc, creating houses and families, playing the game. If i cant figure this out I think I'll have to retire. Its causing me alot of stress to know that possibly Id have to delete every the cc and start over. I couldnt do it. I had to do it once when my old laptop crashed and I lost everything. I posted on the forum for mod the sims 2 and got no help, every i got was "read the help faq but its probably because you deleted content the sims were using." Ok, so how do i fix that? The help faq is long and complicated as hell.

Resolved Question: will i be able to receive financial aid if i go to community college in the fall and uc berkeley in the spring?
i was admitted to uc berkeley for spring and have decided to attend my local community college just for the fall semester. on the faq for spring admits for cal, it said there would be no impact on financial aid. For the community college i am going to, will i be able to receive half my pell grant for fall, and then the other half when i go to berkeley? or will i not be able to receive half of it because i am going to two different schools? oh and of course im not attending them at the same time. logically, i should be able to still receive the most out of the grant right?

I am a sophomore at Gilford High School and believe I want to go into this field. I have an aunt who works in it and has told me about it but I want an opinion from somebody who doesnt know me. If our consciousness, or if "we" could not exist without neurons and neurotransmitters and nerves, etc. then after we die, how can "we" exist if these parts of our bodies that make us who we are die along with our bodies? This is just to receive some general opinions, and I'm hoping to find some good books on the subject if you can recommend any. I have no religion and I focus more on what science tells me, although I have a spiritual side, but after my mom recently passed away, I've found myself asking this question more and more, I guess wondering where she is (or isn't) right now. A psychiatrist suggested that it has to do with our memories, but how can we have memories if the parts of us that keep our memories are no more? Voting Question: How do I know if I'm still blocked from commenting on Facebook without sending another message?
Okay, so I was happily posting away on a fan page I'd liked, until suddenly I receive a message telling me I've been blocked from posting because I'm irritating or abusing others. No 'slow down' warning, just a straightforward block. In a rage, I looked this up on the internet and it turns out it's Facebook's lazy way of avoiding checking the comments posted and just assuming that everyone with a quick computer is spamming. I've received a comment block, so I can still add friends, post on walls and answer to friends' comments, but I can't answer to public wall posts like on the fan page I was posting on before I received the block. Because I was chatting to the creator of the fan page, I can't use Facebook Chat in this situation. What I want to know is, how am I supposed to know if my block is lifted without posting another message? The FAQ says that trying to post again can extend the block, and obviously I've had no choice but to post again and again to check if the block has been lifted! How much longer do I have to wait for the block to expire per failed attempt to comment? I know it says it can last from a few hours to a few days, but ideally how long does it last from your experience? My account couldn't be disabled over this, could it? I did post a lot of messages, but they were every perfectly relevant to the conversation and were in no way spam messages. But I suppose Facebook's admins are too lazy to care.

Voting Question: Are the steroids for sale online REAL steroids?
I know that steroids without a perscription are illegal in the US, but there appears to be many sites that offer to sell steroids online. When you go to the FAQ and the question is legality, it simply says that it is the buyers' responsibility to know if steroids are legal in their country. Clearly these people know that steroids are illegal in the US, but they are covering their butts by saying that. But is this legit? The site I'm looking at right now is steroids-pharmacy.com and they accept credit cards and have a long history blah blah blah it looks very legit. Am I missing something here and this is a scam? Or is this just the real deal and the buyer would just be taking the legal chance?

Resolved Question: 4-H project ideas (20 characters)?
Okay, so this is not exactly horse related, but I don't know what other catagory to put it in. I'm doing my 4-H projects for exploring animals and vet science, but I'm not quite sure what to do them on. So far I have these ideas: Vet science -Possibly a poster about HYPP, explaining what it is, how it started, ect. -If I receive desperate, a picture of an animal with the parts labeled Exploring Animals -A poster on welsh corgis -A poster with llama FAQ, what do they eat, do they spit, ect. If anyone has any ideas on what else I could do or questions that I could include on the llama FAQ idea, that would be great :)

Resolved Question: youtube to mp3 downloader problem?
I use a program thats free called free youtube to mp3 converter. I have updated it n every n made sure that most of the problems that occure dont occure by follow the FAQ which the site provide for the program. Sadly enough no mater what i do, the program contniues to arrive up with an mistake an will not download the link saying that there is no vidoe. It keeps happening to every the other videos too so I'm not too sure whats going on. Can anyone help me out?

Resolved Question: Can someone explain Dungeons to me for World of Warcraft?
I'm new to the game and I'm currently on the 10 day trial, but I have every intention of purchasing it. But there are a few things I still have no clue about because I couldn't find explanations in the FAQ. But what are dungeons and what every do they entail? The only helpful thing that I found in the FAQ was concerns about looting and it seemed like a serious concern. Is there anything I need to look out for when doing a dungeon? Thanks.
